Woman Issued Trespass Notice After Beer Theft
Police responded to a retail theft call involving a woman who allegedly stole a single beer from a store. When officers arrived on scene, they encountered a woman who appeared visibly impaired and had difficulty communicating clearly with law enforcement.
The suspect struggled to provide coherent explanations about the incident and had trouble following basic instructions during the police encounter. She was observed carrying multiple bags at the time officers made contact with her.
During the investigation, the woman's impaired state and incoherent responses complicated the officers' ability to gather clear information about what had occurred. Despite the theft allegation, officers determined that issuing a criminal trespass notice would be the appropriate course of action rather than making an arrest.
The trespass notice officially bars the woman from returning to the store property. This administrative remedy allows the business to prevent future incidents while avoiding the formal arrest process for what appears to be a minor theft involving a single beer.
The case was resolved with the issuance of the trespass notice, and no arrest was made in connection with the shoplifting incident.
