The Flagler County Sheriff's Office arrested a Vermont fugitive on August 15 following an investigation into a series of smoke shop thefts in Palm Coast, Florida. Taylor Crowningshield, 27, was taken into custody after deputies identified him as a suspect in multiple larceny cases targeting local smoke shops.

Deputies from the Community Policing Division initially contacted the FCSO Fugitive Unit with information about the suspect's involvement in the theft cases. During their investigation, law enforcement discovered that Crowningshield had active warrants from Vermont and was wanted as a fugitive from justice.

The arrest was conducted by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Unit, which specializes in locating and apprehending wanted individuals. Crowningshield was residing in Palm Coast at the time of his arrest.

Body camera footage captured the arrest operation as deputies took Crowningshield into custody without incident. The case highlights the coordination between different law enforcement divisions and jurisdictions in tracking fugitives who cross state lines.

Crowningshield faces charges related to the local larceny cases as well as the outstanding Vermont warrants that led to his fugitive status.
