Principal and Teacher Arrested for Hosting Underage Drinking Party

Two Roosevelt Elementary School employees were arrested in January 2025 after Cocoa Beach police discovered over 200 teenagers consuming alcohol at a house party. Principal Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan hosted the party at her residence, while teacher Karly Anderson was found intoxicated at the scene.

The incident gained national attention after initial bodycam footage revealed the chaotic scene, including evidence of firearms being shared on social media and Anderson confronting responding officers while intoxicated. Police body camera footage captured the extent of underage drinking occurring at the residence.

Newly released investigative footage shows the behind-the-scenes police work that followed the initial response. The materials include detective phone calls, interrogation conversations, and the moments when both women were taken into custody at the Cocoa Beach Police Department.

During the investigation, both Hill-Brodigan and Anderson made statements that investigators considered self-incriminating. The detective work culminated in arrest warrants being issued for both educators.

Cocoa Beach police charged Hill-Brodigan and Anderson with child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of minors. Both women invoked their right to legal representation during the booking process.

The case has been resolved with neither defendant serving jail time. The investigative footage was obtained through a public records request to the Cocoa Beach Police Department.
