Woman Arrested for Credit Card Fraud at Nail Salon
A woman was arrested for credit card fraud after attempting to pay for $120 worth of nail salon services with stolen credit cards. Officers responded to the business after the suspect tried to use two credit cards that were not in her name, both of which declined during the transaction.
When confronted about payment, the woman claimed her mother had left, her phone was dead, she had no service, no Wi-Fi access, no identification, and no way to contact anyone for assistance. Police found her explanations inconsistent and suspicious.
During questioning about her intention to pay for the services, the suspect made statements that officers found particularly notable. The investigation revealed this was not an isolated incident, as officers discovered she had also visited a nearby pet store where she allegedly purchased a bearded dragon using a stolen credit card.
At the pet store, the woman reportedly provided a completely different name than what she had given at the nail salon. Police determined that throughout the afternoon, she had used at least five different identities across multiple business locations in what appeared to be a coordinated fraud scheme.
The bodycam footage documents the entire encounter from the initial response call through the arrest and subsequent investigation. Officers gathered evidence from both locations as part of their fraud investigation.
The suspect faces charges related to credit card fraud and identity theft. The case remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the full scope of the fraudulent activity.
