Florida Woman Refuses DUI Tests During Traffic Stop

A woman was arrested for DUI after a lengthy traffic stop in Martin County, Florida, where she repeatedly refused field sobriety tests and displayed erratic behavior. Stuart Police Department Officer Kuffner initiated the stop on Monterey Road after observing the vehicle swerving and driving without taillights.

The suspect told officers she was returning from her husband's concert at Conkey Joe's in Jensen Beach and had consumed two alcoholic beverages. During the stop, she exhibited signs of impairment including vomiting and difficulty maintaining balance. When her husband arrived at the scene, he claimed her condition was caused by fried food consumption.

Following the test results, she criticized the first officer's training methods. The entire encounter lasted several hours as officers worked through the woman's refusal to cooperate with standard DUI investigation procedures.

The Stuart Police Department case number is 25-43222. The woman faces DUI charges in Martin County following the traffic stop and subsequent investigation.
