A Bunnell man was arrested for trafficking in fentanyl after a Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputy conducted a traffic stop on Wednesday night. The arrest occurred around midnight at the intersection of Mahogany Boulevard and Mistletoe Street in Bunnell, Florida.

A deputy initiated the traffic stop on a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle after discovering inconsistencies between the license plate and the registered owner during a routine query. The traffic enforcement operation was part of ongoing patrol activities in the area.

During the subsequent investigation, deputies discovered what authorities described as a significant quantity of fentanyl. The amount seized was substantial enough that officials stated it could potentially kill thousands of people, highlighting the severity of the drug trafficking operation.

The motorcycle operator was taken into custody at the scene. The Flagler County Sheriff's Office has not released additional details about the specific quantity of drugs recovered or the exact circumstances that led to the discovery of the narcotics during the traffic stop.

Fentanyl trafficking charges carry severe penalties under Florida law, with mandatory minimum sentences depending on the quantity involved. The case remains under investigation by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.
